Das WG
First you should know that we have to go to school from Monday to Friday. Lessons start at 7:45 and end at 1 pm if you normally have six lessons . After two lessons you have a big break.
Every big break takes 15 minutes. After each lesson you have a little break that takes five minutes. In the following paragraphs you can see some examples for rooms and places where you can go to during the break, in your free time and after lessons.
The Cafeteria is a suitable place where pupils come together to talk, to do their homework or to learn words quickly for a test they will do next lesson. Besides you can talk to Mrs. Koch. She is the owner of the Cafeteria and a kind person who sells different things you can eat. Many pupils like her food because the choice is great. You get "all" you need e.g. warm food, sweets, drinks and many other things like exercise books and pencils. If many pupils come you may help Mrs. Koch to sell her products so that you get a TWIX or anything else for your help.
Our SchoolyardOn our schoolyard you can see some objects in memory of all students who were taught in the Wilhelm-Gymnasium and did their "Abitur" here some years ago. Everybody can read the names of the students on the objects. Here it is possible to play basketball or table tennis. After students did their "Abitur" they organize the traditional "ABISCHERZ". Many pupils meet to see the competition. Teachers aren't allowed to stay away because it doesn't make sense to do the competition without teachers. It's like a joke or comedy with teachers and students.
The RemterThe Remter is the entrance hall of the WG. Sometimes you can see a little exhibition of arts of pupils who did well in lessons. You will find important information there, too. Pupils play billiard and sit here in breaks, talk and do their homework. Our caretaker has a small room inside of the Remter. There you can see a Greek Statue which is a copy of the famous original.
All pupils meet there if the WG has new information for them. Every class can go there to write tests or exams in different subjects. On the wall there is a list of names which belong to pupils who died in one of the two World Wars. "Wilhelm-Gymnasium. They died in one of two world wars."
The stage in the assembly hall is used for events. Some pupils train here for certain events.
That is a room which has existed for about one year. It was very expensive to build the Mensa. Everybody can choose between two and sometimes three meals he would like to eat. But first You have to fill in an order form. In big breaks younger pupils go there to play cards or do something else. From 1 pm to 1.45 pm you have the chance to eat your meal(s). When you order your meals you will get of ticket so that the person which hands out the meals can check who has already got his meal.
The WG is placed by the river named "Oker"
